For Cat Deeley, getting older means having more fun than ever before. We asked the TV icon what excites her about the future, from embarking on adventures with her boys to dancing till dawn with her friends.
Make space for silliness
“As I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten sillier! I have massive amounts of fun now – I giggle the whole time! I’m so comfortable in my own skin. I’m not slowing down, I’m speeding up. I’m going into fifth gear.”
Cherish your female friendships
“I have lots of friends who are still my oldest friends from way back when! We’ve been through everything together: heartbreak, love, births, children. They’ll tell me the truth, they’ll laugh with me, we’ll dance till dawn on tables. The minute we get together, it’s instantaneously as though no time has passed at all.”
Embrace the changes in your skin
“My mum has always been very cool: she taught me how to look after my skin. From a very early age, I learnt that you can’t just do anything to your skin. Your skin changes, whether it’s due to the environment, hormones or ageing. Advanced Night Repair Serum is my go-to. It’s like a little miracle in a bottle.”
Live for the moment
“My mum always used to say to me, “It goes by so quickly!”, and I never believed her. I just rolled my eyes! But now, I see my boys growing up and their big teeth coming through and, all of a sudden, they’re not babies anymore. There are so many things I want to do, especially with them.”
We asked five incredible women what getting older means to them, from becoming more confident to embracing new beginnings. Watch the #BecauseOfMyAge series here.
